Read this article to find out how an old piece of furniture, a few Euro pallets or even a worn-out car tyre can be upgraded and turned into something completely new.

What is upcycling?

The word Upcycling comes from the English and is composed of the terms "up" and "recycling". It denotes the Upgrading items that were previously broken, faulty or not particularly attractive. They are given a second life through upcycling to save them from waste or bulky rubbish. Old furniture, bottles, jars, car tyres and pallets are particularly popular with DIY enthusiasts.

The Difference between upcycling and recycling the second is that objects are broken down into their individual parts and then recycled. Upcycling, on the other hand, can also be described as creative misuse. As a rule, the workpieces are not only given a new lease of life, but are transformed into a completely new decorative object.

With a little patience, inspiration and the right ideas, you can redesign old furniture and customise it to suit your style. Whether vintage, shabby chic or modern, everything is possible with DIY furniture upcycling.
