A well-rounded affair: DIY mirror in organic shape design yourself

We don't always have to head straight to the furniture store and buy new things when it comes to interior trends. It is much nicer - and more sustainable - when we upgrade existing pieces, give them a new lease of life and adapt them to current trends. Upcycling is not only very trendy, but also offers the opportunity to give free rein to your own creativity and create unique pieces that perfectly match your personal style.

A great example of this is this discarded mirror, which may seem old-fashioned or inconspicuous at first glance. With a few simple steps, we transformed it into a wave mirror that is now an absolute eye-catcher in organic shape. The curved look gives the room a modern yet playful touch - and shows that new really can be created from old!

A step-by-step guide:

What you need:

  • Mirror without back panel
  • Glass cutter and glass cutting oil
  • Wipeable marker
  • Fine sandpaper
  • Wall bracket
  • Paint spraying system W 600 FLEXiO
  • Lacquer or glaze
  • Safety goggles & respirator mask
  • LED light tube and double-sided adhesive tape

This is how it works:

  1. Unscrew the back panel
  2. Draw your desired shape with an erasable marker
  3. Cut sections with a glass cutter and carefully break them off
  4. Sand the edges smooth with fine sandpaper
  5. Wall bracket with the W 600 FLEXiO Paint in the desired color
  6. Stick the light tube to the back of the mirror using double-sided adhesive tape
  7. Hang them up, turn on the light and enjoy!

The result

A luminous highlight for your room

The stylish lighting of this DIY mirror makes it a real eye-catcher! The warm light emphasizes the curved shape of the mirror and gives the room a cosy atmosphere. At the same time, it highlights the modern design and visually enhances the DIY mirror, making it a highlight in any living area.

Organic shapes are the trend in interiors

The focus is primarily on organic shapes and furniture with flowing contours and rounded corners dominate this popular design trend. Curved sofas, organic tables and carpets in unconventional shapes create coziness and comfort in the room.

Inspired by nature, organic shapes bring a harmonious and calming atmosphere to our living spaces.
